My stay was quite disappointing overall. While the location near Sefton Park is fantastic, the service and room condition left much to be desired. I found the room old and poorly maintained, and there were significant issues during my stay that impacted my overall experience.

5.8/10

I recently stayed at Sefton Park Hotel for a family gathering, which admittedly had its ups and downs. While the location near the park was perfect and the event itself went well, the accommodations and overall service experience left much to be desired. The hotel has potential due to its historical charm, but it definitely needs some improvements.

Rooms
5.0
Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the room. It felt shabby, with worn carpets and less than ideal furnishings. The bathroom situation, being outside my room, was a hassle for someone my size. Definitely not what I expected for the price.
Service
6.0
The service during the event was generally okay, with some staff managing to be attentive. However, there was a notable lack of friendliness from certain reception staff, which marred the overall experience.
Location
9.0
The location is fantastic, right next to Sefton Park, making it a lovely place for outdoor activities and walks. This aspect alone was a significant highlight of our stay.
Dining
5.0
Dining was also a mixed bag. The breakfast options were limited and service was slow, which was quite frustrating considering the event had a large number of guests to cater to.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel facilities could definitely be updated to meet modern expectations. While some areas had charm, they felt neglected overall.

I had a lovely stay at this hotel, with a charming atmosphere and great proximity to Sefton Park. The rooms were spacious, and the staff were accommodating, but there were a few small issues, like limited breakfast options due to staff availability. Overall, a delightful experience at a very engaging hotel steeped in history.

Rooms
8.0
The room I stayed in was quite spacious and well-decorated, though it could use a little more attention to details like additional toiletries.
Service
9.0
The staff were exceptionally welcoming and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable, although there was a minor hiccup with a noisy party.
Location
10.0
The location is fantastic, just a short walk to Lark Lane with plenty of local dining options and easy access to public transport into the city.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was enjoyable though somewhat limited; I would have preferred a cooked option, but the continental spread was good.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were nice, and I especially appreciated the lounge bar area, but it would benefit from more variety in snacks!

My stay at this hotel was quite a mix of highs and lows. I truly appreciated the friendly and accommodating staff, particularly Connor, who made me feel welcomed. The location was beautiful, right by Sefton Park, offering lovely walks. However, the rooms had their issues, and the service during breakfast left much to be desired. Overall, it felt like a hidden gem, but certain aspects need improvement to match its potential.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were quaint, but some felt outdated and smaller than anticipated. I had to change my room as the first one was quite cramped.
Service
7.0
The staff were generally friendly and went out of their way to help when I needed to change my room.
Location
9.0
The hotel is ideally located right in front of beautiful Sefton Park, perfect for nature lovers and dog walks.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast options were limited and service could be quicker; I ended up waiting longer than expected for my order.
Facilities
6.0
The overall facilities felt slightly lacking and could use an upgrade, especially in the dining area.

While the hotel is located near Sefton Park, which is lovely, my experience was greatly affected by the noise levels in the room and the indifferent service. The room was clean but small and old, and the heating was a bit of a struggle. Overall, I think there are better options out there for a more comfortable stay.
